Stories To Share

Writing a short story is great for keeping the mind occupied, and with all of us spending a lot of time at home, now is a great time to get started. Not only will you be keeping your mind busy, you can provide some light relief for others by sharing your stories with them.

The hardest part of writing a short story is knowing where to start. We've put together a collection of story starters to get your creative juices flowing.

Story Starters:

I knew I loved you from the moment I saw you...

I've never been so embarrassed...

I'm going to tell you about the best day ever...

We had to stay apart, yet I never felt more connected...

I finally had time...

When the world started up again...

On the day quarantine ended...

The first thing I did...

Before this I didn't know my neighbours...

Nature didn't need long to start to recover...

The air was purer, the seas clearer...

What To Do

1) Choose a story starter that excites you and makes you want to get writing, or go rogue and start however you want!

2) You can use the planning sheet resource in the links section or just go for it and get writing. We recommend keeping stories under 300 words, this means people can get that light relief quickly, they're easy to share and there is less pressure on the writer, but this is your story, so you do you!

Why not share your story on our Facebook Group.
